NFL Marks First Game Ever With Female Referee & Female Coaches On Both Sidelines
Sunday’s week three game between the Washington Football Team and the Cleveland Browns would have been forgotten to time if it weren’t for a special milestone that marked the game. This contest was the first time in NFL history that both teams had a female coach on the sidelines and there was a female referee working the game.

On the right is Callie Brownson, the chief of staff for Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, and the left is Jennifer King in her first season on Ron Rivera’s coaching staff in Washington. In the middle is Sarah Thomas, who became the league’s first female official in 2015.
