A North Dakota State University football player has been dismissed from the team following allegations that he stole a bag of luxury items, including a Rolex watch, off a boat.

Sophomore cornerback William Frattalone allegedly took a Louis Vuitton bag off a boat during a wild Fourth of July outing. According to the complaint filed on Aug. 27, the designer bag was filled with more than $270,000 worth of items, including a $228,000 Rolex and over $25,000 worth of luxury clothes.

The theft allegedly occurred while the boat was docked at Maynard’s Restaurant, a bayside restaurant in Excelsior, Minnesota. The bag was stored in a sealed cabin during dinner, but was discovered missing when the victim returned.

It is unclear if Frattalone knew anyone on board, but he somehow ended up aboard the boat. The staff later stopped him after trying to enter the restaurant with the large bag, as it violated their bag policy.

Frattalone left the premises shortly after, according to the complaint. When another guest confronted Frattalone, he allegedly said his wealthy parent would “write a check for whatever was inside the bag.”

While executing a search warrant at Frattalone’s Minnesota home, authorities found the luxury bag and most of its contents, except for the Rolex watch, which remains missing, according to the complaint. Authorities obtained a video from his phone, taken on July 4, which showcased the boat and the storage area where the bag and others were stored.

NDSU head coach Tim Polasek confirmed Frattalone’s dismissal, and he will not be considered for reinstatement in the program.

“He was not part of the 123 players for fall camp and will not be considered to rejoin the team in any fashion,” Polasek said in a statement.

Frattalone faces felony theft charges and is set to make his first court appearance on Sept. 11. The incident highlights Frattalone’s history of trouble.

Last year, he was involved in a physical altercation that escalated into gunfire involving teammate Jaiden Pickett. Frattalone did not receive any charges for the incident because his actions were not severe. Pickett was dismissed from the team and sentenced to three years in jail.
