Andrew White scored 22 points and added 10 rebounds, while Tyler Lydon contributed 20 points to lead the Orange to a desperately needed win.

John Gillon made his first start of the season at point guard and recorded a career-tying 11 assists for Syracuse (9-6, 1-1 ACC), who recorded their first victory over a power conference team this season.

“This is the first game where we played every play,” said Gillon. “When they made a run, we kept executing. We kept getting good shots. And, you know, we made good defensive plays. That’s hard to do when you haven’t been there and haven’t done that.”
