UPDATE: It is official: Ndamukong Suh has won his appeal and will be playing in the wild-card round against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Instead of being suspended, he will just have to pay a hefty $70,000 fine.
After the supposed Aaron Rodgers leg stomp that resulted in a one game suspension from the league, Matthew Stafford’s fiancé defended Ndamukong Suh on Instagram.
As anyone can see from the caption, she called out the NFL for babying Rodgers and being harsh on Suh, who has been a notorious dirty player: she even goes so far as to state that Stafford was cleated during the game, but no attention was paid to him because he is not Aaron Rodgers.
The Instagram then quotes Fox Sports’ referee analyst Mike Pereira who strongly disagreed with the NFL’s suspension: “And I firmly believe that if it wasn’t Suh and it was another no-name… it wouldn’t have led to any type of a fine at all.”
The quote is from the above Fox Sports Video, where Pereira continued “Is this egregious enough for a suspension? No, his hit three weeks ago on Josh McCown was much worse than this and it didn’t even draw a fine. Pretty inconsistent discipline process coming out of New York in my opinion.
At the moment, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora claims the suspension could possibly be reduced to a fine in the appeal process: but no one has confirmed this. Be sure to continuously tune in for all updates regarding Ndamukong Suh.
