Knicks Finally Get Their Parade As 2 Million New Yorkers Celebrate In Canyon Of Heros

The sounds of New Yorkers filled the streets for the long-awaited New York Knicks championship parade. Knicks fans waited five decades to finally experience a title celebration, and hundreds of thousands packed the streets of Lower Manhattan for the team’s NBA championship parade.

The parade marked the culmination of a historic season for the Knicks, who captured their first NBA title since 1973 after defeating the San Antonio Spurs in five games in the NBA Finals.

Fans began lining up in the early morning hours before the festivities started, packing the famed Canyon of Heroes along Broadway. Many wore vintage Knicks jerseys, waved team flags and carried signs celebrating a championship some generations of fans had never witnessed.

The parade featured players, coaches and team executives riding atop double-decker buses, holding the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Chants of “Let’s go Knicks!” rang out as confetti rained down.

Finals MVP Jalen Brunson received the loudest cheers of the day. Brunson led the franchise’s transformation into a championship contender and has been the team’s leading player throughout their title run.

It wasn’t just Brunson. Karl-Anthony Towns, acquired from Minnesota, and Mikal Bridges, brought in from the Brooklyn Nets in a deal involving several first-round picks, all played key roles. There were many other contributors as well.

Fans were thrilled that the Knicks won a title after such a long wait. While a few minor incidents were reported at the championship celebration, the parade was largely peaceful. For longtime Knicks supporters, the celebration represented more than just a championship—it was the culmination of decades of hope and loyalty.

New York Knicks fans can finally celebrate, as the city waited 53 years for this moment.
