The Washington Redskins and their quarterback Kirk Cousins have reportedly decided to put their contract negotiations on hold.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cousins and his team are no longer discussing numbers – at least for now.
The free agent period does not officially begin until March 12, so there is still plenty of time left to work out a deal.
Cousins, 27, suggested just last month that he would like to remain in Washington, although he has also left the door open to sign with another team. A previous reported stated that the Redskins are prepared to commit to Cousins as their franchise quarterback.
