Kevin Durant To Miss All-Star Game To Continue Rehab

It was most likely a pipe dream, anyway. But now it’s official: Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant, the conference’s leading vote-getter, will not play in the NBA All-Star game on February 20 as he continues to rehab from a sprained MCL.

Durant suffered the injury on January 15, and his timetable to return was marked as four to six weeks. So it was never a given that he’d come back so quickly for an exhibition—even if it is the All-Star game.

It was announced during the TNT broadcast of the Lakers-Nets game on Tuesday evening. The All-Star Game starters will be announced Thursday; reserves will be announced later.

Durant leads the vote for Eastern Conference players and is the third leading vote-receiver overall (LeBron James, Steph Curry).
