If you’re a Kansas City Royals fan, you have accepted that it’s another rebuilding year for the team.
The Royals are virtually in last place, obtaining the second overall pick of the next draft with the Baltimore Orioles. Kansas City are 2-8 in their last 10 games, including a 10-3 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals and a 16-1 loss to the Texas Rangers back in the middle of May. The Royals also have six players that are currently injured, ranging from day-to-day, to season-ending injuries. The Royals are currently on a three-game losing streak coming into their next series against the defending national champions, the Boston Red Sox.

The Royals haven’t been to the postseason since 2016. According to Stubhub, tickets for home games at Kauffman Stadium can range as low as $9 to $10 when they play the Red Sox in the upcoming series. Then another $10 when the Detroit Tigers come into town the following week. June and July are primetime baseball for the family as kids are getting off school for the summer.

30 SPORTS FIGURES WHO DIED IN 2018 – TRIBUTE SLIDESHOW
The MLB draft was Monday and the Royals settled with the No. 2 pick. With their pick, they selected Texas Prep student Bobby Whit Jr. The 18-year-old shortstop has serious potential and plenty of time to grow under his new team. Although he can’t help the Royals this season, there is some serious hope for the Royals in the days to come. Whit Jr. is ranked the best high school baseball player in the country. The Royals also selected a University of Florida shortstop, Brady McConnell, later in the next round of the draft. For their last pick, the Royals selected a right-handed pitcher, Alec Marsh, from Arizona State. Back in the 2000s, the Royals rebuilt their brand and settled with multiple first-round picks over the years to build a squad worthy of serious contention.
