Jorge Masvidal Out On Bail After Arrest For Sucker Punching Colby Covington
On the heels of his confrontation with Colby Covington, Jorge Masvidal has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of aggravated battery with a mask and another felony count of criminal mischief.
He’s due back in court for a hearing on April 21 after he posted a $15,000 bond early Thursday morning. The 37-year-old UFCer was booked in a Miami jail around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Video from the incident shows Covington, 34, saying: “He’s over here swinging, trying to come at me, and I ran … How would he know I’m here?”
The victim, an unidentified man, told police that he was sucker-punched twice—in the mouth and the left eye—by Masvidal while walking away from a restaurant prior to 11 p.m. During the attack, Masvidal allegedly said, “You shouldn’t have been talking about my kids.” Similar claims have been made by Masvidal on social media before.
