Jets Signing Veteran Quarterback Joe Flacco To Backup Sam Darnold

Earlier in the offseason, the New York Jets signed veteran running back Frank Gore to backup Le’Veon Bell. On Friday, the Jets added yet another veteran to be the backup to their current starter.

The team is signing Joe Flacco to be the backup quarterback behind Sam Darnold. It is rumored that the Jets have signed Flacco to a one-year contract worth $1.5 million, with an additional $3 million in incentives, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Last season, Flacco played in only eight games for the Denver Broncos until a neck injury cut his season short. In those eight games, the Broncos went a mere 2-6 and Flacco threw for 1,822 yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions.
