The Jacksonville Jaguars are in rebuild mode after trading former QB Blake Bortles and signing former Philadelphia quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles.
The Jags also picked up LB Josh Allen from Kentucky with their first-round pick in this year’s draft. Doug Marrone and the Jaguars organization continue their rebuild by signing a veteran wide receiver, Terrelle Pryor. Pryor just signed a one-year deal with Jacksonville earlier on Monday morning, and with good reasoning, as the Jaguars lack depth in the receiver position. Pryor has 1,563 yards from 115 catches and seven total touchdowns in six seasons in the NFL.
Foles’ options out wide are limited, as Dede Westbrook, Chris Conley, Keelan Cole and DJ Chark will be welcoming Pryor on board. The other receivers for the Jags are undrafted rookies Michael Walker, Raphael Leonard, Tyre Brady and Dredrick Snelson. Pryor is the biggest receiver on the team at 6-foot-4 and 228 pounds, according to CBS Sports.
After starting his career as a QB, as he did at Ohio State and his first few NFL seasons, he made the transition to receiver. In 2016, he had a breakout NFL season for the Cleveland Browns, obtaining over 1,000 yards from 77 catches. Pryor turns 30 next month and will be a massive influence on some of the younger players in his position. An experienced veteran is exactly what the Jags needed in the receiver room. The Jaguars released DT Lyndon Johnson to make room on the roster for Pryor.

30 SPORTS FIGURES WHO DIED IN 2018 – TRIBUTE SLIDESHOW
Even after the signing of Pryor, the Jags still lack serious skill for receivers if they want to win the AFC South and make a spot in the postseason. For the Jags’ competition this year, the Indianapolis Colts have veteran T.Y. Hilton returning for them as one of the most dynamic receivers in the league, as well as first-round pick Parris Campbell as new youth to add to the Colts’ offense. The Houston Texans have All-Pro Deandre Hopkins returning, as well as Will Fuller, who had a breakout year for the Texans last season. The Jags can be proud to say they have the third-best WR core in their division, as the Tennessee Titans have virtually little to no experience or ability in the WR position.
