Indianapolis Colts Announce Positive COVID Tests – But Re-Tests Are Negative

After announcing on Friday that they received four positive tests for COVID-19, the Indianapolis Colts have reopened their practice facility on Friday after the re-tests came back negative. They will have to follow stricter policies within their facilities because of these false-positives.

“After consultation with the NFL and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Allen Sills, the team will open the practice facility this afternoon under the league’s intensive protocol and will continue preparation for Sunday’s game against Cincinnati,” the team’s statement said.

Football fans may be breathing a sigh of relief with this news since it has been a rough couple of weeks with the NFL. Just last week, the Atlanta Falcons have had a COVID scare along with outbreaks within the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots. If these outbreaks continue at the pace that they have been moving then the NFL will seriously have to consider adding weeks to the end of the season in order to accommodate rescheduled games and may even have to turn to a bubble format for the playoffs, an idea that Sills shot down earlier this week.
