Grizzlies’ Ja Morant, Who Was Suspended For Posing With Guns, Makes Finger Guns Gesture Toward Golden State Warriors Bench

The Memphis Grizzlies lost their fourth straight game on Tuesday night, falling to the Golden State Warriors 134-125. Steph Curry made 12 3-pointers and finished with 52 points.

However, Curry’s performance was overshadowed by Ja Morant, who made a finger guns gesture toward the Golden State Warriors’ bench in response to Buddy Hield showboating on the sideline.

Both Morant and Hield received double-technical fouls.

The incident occurred with just 20.8 seconds remaining in the game, following a made free throw by Jimmy Butler. As Morant was walking back to the sideline, he extended both of his arms and pointed them toward the Warriors’ bench, mimicking a shooting motion with his arms and hands.

The NBA is now launching a probe into the superstar’s actions from the game.

Morant’s actions have come in a spree of news surrounding the Memphis Grizzlies, who fired Head Coach Taylor Jenkins on Friday. Jenkins was the all-time winningest coach in Grizzlies history.

Additionally, these actions have sparked controversy because of Morant’s history with guns. Morant was previously suspended 25 games for posing with a gun during a friend’s Instagram Live video.

Morant was also given an indefinite suspension for revealing a firearm during an Instagram Live video at a nightclub. The suspension lasted eight games.

The league will also look into the actions of Hield, whom Morant was responding to on the sideline. League officials will talk to the involved parties as soon as Wednesday.
