Green Bay Packers Sign Rashan Gary To Contact Extension
Outside linebacker Rashan Gary has signed a four-year, $107 million contract extension with the Green Bay Packers.
The new deal guarantees Gary $96 million in new money, including a signing bonus of over $34 million.
Prior to the extension, the Packers picked up the fifth-year option through 2023 with Gary despite a torn ACL injury in Week 9
A first-round pick in 2019, Gary broke out in the 2021 season as a full-time starter with 9.5 sacks while adding 47 tackles. Through his first seven games in the 2023 season, he has 4.5 sacks and five tackles for loss. Overall, Gary has 27 sacks in 63 career games. With the signing of Gary, Green Bay has locked down a key defensive player for the long term.

Last year, Gary said that a big contract for the Packers would be one of his goals.
“That would be my dream. That would be my dream. But I’ve got to keep my head down and work and not look too far ahead or all this talk is just talk,” Gary said.
Several NFL defensive players have signed massive contracts. San Francisco 49ers’s Nick Bosa signed a five-year, $170 million extension which made him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history. With this new contract, Bosa will make $34 million per year.
Gary is now fifth among edge rushes in total earnings per year. The contract puts him behind Bosa and T.J. Watt ($28.15 million), Joey Bosa ($27 million) and Myles Garrett ($25 million).
Gary is just below Garrett at $24 million.
