Green Bay Packers Letroy Guion was arrested on felony charges Tuesday in Florida: according to police, Guion was stopped due to the suspicion he was driving while impaired — the police report even claimed he was at one point hanging out the driver side window.

And when the cops approached the vehicle, they immediately smelled marijuana and proceeded to search the car. In their search, they found 357 grams of marijuana, a firearm registered in Minnesota and over $190,000 in cash. Guion was then arrested, taken to police station and booked: he has currently been released on a $100,000 bond.

As for the origin of such a large amount of money, ESPN sources claimed that he cashed his Packers check to help his Florida-based family, “[even] provided proof of the money’s origin through recent bank statements.” As for the need of over 350 grams of weed, well that is just a story the world has to wait to find out.

As for the Green Bay Packers reaction, the team issued a statement: “We are aware of a serious matter involving Letroy Guion. We have not yet spoken to Letroy and we will have no further comment.” The defensive tackle joined the team last offseason for a one year, one million dollar deal, a contract designed to see if Guion had anything left. And in the absence of B.J. Raji, he thrived, securing a career best 3.5 sacks.

Before this incident, it was believed that Guion would re-sign with the Packers, but at the moment his future with Green Bay as well as the NFL is obviously in question.
