If the Cleveland Cavaliers are the class of the Eastern Conference, then the rest of the league should be afraid. In a rematch of last year’s championship series, the Golden State Warriors embarrassed the Cavs, beating them 132-98 and sent a message to the nation in the process.
Stephen Curry continued to make his case as the game’s best scorer, pouring in 35 points in three quarters while Andre Iguodala added 20 in a dominant performance. The Warriors had a 30-point first half lead, which they pushed as far as 43 in the second half.
“They did what they wanted,” LeBron James simply explained.
Before the game, Curry said that he hoped the visitors locker room still smelled like champagne. While his team played like champions, he was more understated after the contest. “The last time I was there, we had a trophy, we had champagne and we had goggles,” Curry said in recalling last season’s Game 6. “We had a good time.”

For the Cavs, the defeat was clearly a sign that they’re not where the expect to be as a team.
“Against the top teams, you want to play well, and we haven’t done that. We’re 0-3,” James said of Cleveland’s record against Golden State and San Antonio. “Tonight was an example of how far we have to go to win a championship.”
For the Warriors, it was clearly a different story. “They definitely played like champions,” Kyrie Irving said.
