NBA Christmas Detail
Ever since taking over Christmas Day television, the NBA has been making special jerseys for the holiday games. While they’ve run the gambit from the monochromatic “big color” unis to the explanatory “big logo” they’ve all shared the common thread of not looking great. That’s changing this year though.
Instead of just looking different, this year’s Christmas jerseys will actually take inspiration from the day. For example, the Wizards standard stripes get a Santa Claus/candy cane twist with a retro font.

On the other side of the spectrum, the Warriors blue takes on an icier hue with silver accents instead of the standard gold.
Not to be outdone by their in-state rivals, the Lakers will don cream colored jerseys with purple trim. With a more looping font than the Warriors and Wizards, the jersey has a classy, old-school look regardless of the season. Thankfully Kobe Bryant’s last NBA Christmas won’t feature him wearing some technicolor monstrosity.
And, unlike the previous years, all the jerseys will have an additional nod to the holidays. The traditional dribbling man logo that adorns the back of every jersey will be ‘inside’ of a red ornament. Again, it’s nice to see that the uniforms were made with a specific aesthetic in mind instead of simply using Christmas as an excuse to wear something different.
