Former UNLV Members Get Tattoos Honoring Coach Tarkanian

It looks like some good has come out of a very sad moment in sports history. After last week’s announcement of Jerry Tarkanian’s death, some UNLV players from his “Runnin’ Rebels” 1990 championship team reunited to get tattoos honoring the late coach.

The UNLV athletes in question were Larry Johnson, Anderson Hunt, Stacey Augmon, Chris Jeter and Mo Scurry. And a few of the athletes decided to keep the Twitter world updated about the tattoo design and process: as many can see the actual tattoo is quite a large commitment, but perfectly encapsulates the impact Tark had on these men.

The athletes even took some cool after shots to show how the tattoos came out.

It is just a cool little sports moment that shows how impactful something as seemingly small as basketball can be on individuals for the rest of their lives.
