Former MLB all-star Carl Crawford has been arrested and charged with assault after an incident involving his ex-girlfriend, who is the mother of his child, and a man she is dating.
The incident allegedly took place on May 8 where Crawford went to the house of his ex-girlfriend with a handgun. It has been reported that Crawford shoved her to the ground, slammed her head against a wall and choked her.
It was not until his one-year old daughter came in and distracted Crawford that his ex-girlfriend was able to get away and call for help. Crawford fled the scene prior to police showing up. The 38-year old has since posted a $50,000 bond and is free from jail.
A 5-year old boy drowned in Crawford’s pool a week after the alleged incident with his ex-girlfriend. It is believed that these two incidents are not related.

Crawford played 15 years in Major League Baseball for the Rays, Red Sox and Dodgers. During his career Crawford hit .290, had 1931 hits, 136 home runs, and 776 RBIs. Crawford was also named an all-star four times in his career.
