Former Alabama DB Forms Site For Altee Tenpenny
Shortly after hearing about his teammate Altee Tenpenny‘s untimely death, former Alabama DB John Fulton sprung into action and created a GoFundMe account the very next day in order to help Tenpenny’s family cut the costs of his funeral. The two Crimson Tide players only coincided for one season in 2013.
As of Thursday morning, the website had raised more than half its goal ($8,000 out of $15,000). Tenpenny, 20, was killed Tuesday evening in a single-car accident just outside of Glen Allan, Miss., according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol. He had just been dismissed from Nicholls State in Louisiana and was heading back home to his native Arkansas when the crash occurred. Several of Tenpenny’s teammates took to social media to mourn the loss of the player. Most of them, including Fulton, fondly remembered him for his big smile. He played for two seasons at Alabama before transferring to UNLV in May.
Denzell Devall stated, with a smile of his own: “Big smile, dimples. I never really saw him down. No matter what he was going through, he was always smiling, clowning. You would never know what was going on, if he was mad or not. He was just always smiling.”
