Fans Fall Onto FedEx Field, Jalen Hurts Helps Them Up
Jalen Hurts earned a lot of scorn from Washington Football Team fans Sunday after his Eagles triumphed 20-16 in Landover, Maryland, though he surely made some friends, too.
Following the game, video shows Hurts about to enter the tunnel at FedEx Field before a railing collapses and fans fell onto the field.
The Eagles’ quarterback, who was inches away from getting hit by a slew of falling fans, then helped up the fans.
“I’m just happy everybody’s safe from it,” Hurts said. “It’s crazy—it’s crazy stuff right there. That was a real dangerous situation. I’m just so happy everybody bounced back from it, it seemed like it.
“Passion of the Eagles fans, I love it.”
The Football Team is aware of the incident.
“To our knowledge, everyone involved was offered onsite medical evaluation and left the stadium of their own accord,” the team said in a statement. “We’re very glad no one appears to have been seriously injured. The safety of our fans and guests is of the utmost importance and we are looking into what occurred.”
The NFL will review the incident.
