Scotland’s Ewen Ferguson Sunday shot a 70 in the final round to finish -7 and notch his maiden European Tour title at the Doha Golf Club in the Qatar Masters. American Chase Hanna ended with 71 to finish second.

Facing windy conditions, Ferguson fought back from an early double bogey to etch his name in history. He chipped in an eagle at 16 and sank birdies on six and 18 to overtake Adrian Meronk and Matthew Jordan, the latter of whom dropped out on the back nine.

“I just can’t believe it at all,” Ferguson said. “Years and years of hard work. I got here earlier today because [coach Jamie Gough] said ‘your chipping’s not good enough.’

“Worked on it, worked on it and chipped in today and played a decent chip on the last.”
