Denver Nuggets guard Emmanuel Mudiay made a 35-foot shot at the buzzer to give his team a 104-103 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night, the Nuggets’ fifth straight home win.

Mudiay, who finished with 27 points and 11 rebounds, was caught between two defenders and nearly lost the ball before regaining control and throwing the game-winning shot.

Nikola Jokic and Gary Harris each finished with 18 point for the Nuggets.

T.J. McConnell scored 17 points for the 76ers, who lost their seventh consecutive game. Robert Covington also made his return with the Sixers, after missing six games due to a concussion, and added 16 points.

After trailing 53-45 at halftime, the 76ers narrowed Denver’s lead to 75-73 going into the fourth quarter, which was a highly contested one.

McConnell scored a jumper that gave the 76ers a 91-88 lead with 7:04 remaining, but Jokic scored seven straight points to put the Nuggets back ahead 97-94 with 3:59 remaining.

Philadelphia then went on an eight-point run, including six points from Carl Landry, to regain a 102-97 lead with 1:52 left.

Jokic and Harris both made two free throws to put Denver within one point.

The Nuggets outscored the 76ers 23-4 over the last 8:18 of the second quarter.

The 76ers (9-63) will next visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night, while the Nuggets (30-42) will visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night.
