Eli Manning Leads Giants To Victory, First Place

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has a lot to be smiling about after last night’s primetime game against the San Francisco 49ers that happened at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, N.J. Coming into the game, the Giants were favored to win highly against a deficient 49ers team who lost three straight games before last night. But after four and a half quarters, both teams were equal with each other throughout the game scoring on every drive each team could get.

After a rushing touchdown by 49er running back Carlos Hyde handed off by quarterback Colin Kaepernick with 1:45 left in the game, Manning and his offense took the field for a drive down the field that would be remembered for the ages to come. In the red zone after a 60-yard drive down the field, Manning threw up a pass to the end zone to find tight end Larry Donnell make a spectacular catch for a 12-yard touchdown with 21 seconds to go to seal the game for the Giants.

That touchdown pass capped an impressive night for Manning who finished the night with a career-best 41 completions out of 51 attempts, 441 yards, and three touchdowns. His fourth-quarter comeback brings his total to 27 for his career and became the winningest quarterback for the Giants with 102.

Another big story for the Giants is they have won three straight games and are currently in first place in the NFC East with a 3-2 record with the rest of the division at 2-3. The team will travel to Philadelphia to face division rival Eagles next Monday night.
