Eagles Prepare To Hire Jim Schwartz As Defensive Coordinator
The Philadelphia Eagles, who hired former team player Doug Pederson as their head coach just last week, are now preparing to add a new member to their coaching staff. According to Don Banks of SI.com, the Eagles are set to bring in former Detroit Lions head coach and Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz to run their defense.

This move signals a shift back to a 4-3 defense and should significantly improve the production of the team’s front seven, who have been struggling in recent years. Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox could also potentially become a key player for the team in the middle. Schwartz last ran the Bills’ defense in 2014, a defense that led the league with 54 sacks.
It appears that what Schwartz will most quickly need to recalibrate, however, is the back end of Philadelphia’s defense. The cornerbacks struggled in 2015 despite safety Malcolm Jenkins‘s strong role as the defense’s centerpiece.
