Cooper was arrested on June 4 in Colorado following an alleged altercation with his girlfriend. Early reports indicated he was booked on misdemeanor domestic violence and criminal charges after police responded to a dispute at his residence.

The situation escalated this week when prosecutors upgraded the charges. According to court records, Cooper now faces a felony charge of second-degree assault by strangulation, along with a misdemeanor third-degree assault charge.
