Deion Sanders: A Few Guys ‘Not On The Team Anymore’

Colorado Football Head Coach Deion Sanders has dismissed an unknown group of players from the Colorado team following an incident last week in their 41-7 loss to Northwestern.

Players were talking trash about Northwestern’s temporary stadium, chirping and boasting about how “this place f–king suck,” and “S— sounds like a f–king library.”

The team went on to get blown out, and Sanders cited the behavior before and after the game as detrimental to the team. Players were reportedly laughing after the loss, and the coach did not mince words in his interview about his feelings on the matter.

“I’m one of the most loving and giving and forgiving men you could ever meet, but when you start having conduct detrimental to the team, you don’t care about the team; you care about you. I have a problem with that.”

He also said that last year he wasn’t tough enough on the team and that it “imploded” when he didn’t put his foot down on matters like this.

He also mentioned positive responses from the team afterward, saying players didn’t want to lose their teammates, but rather correct their actions before they do something like this.

“They said, ‘We want to get ahead of anything. Tell us who may be on that list next… we want to get ahead of it… and make sure they are doing the right thing… make sure they aren’t going out of bounds. So I applaud them for that.”

The team has not released the exact number or names. Colorado released a statement saying roster changes haven’t been finalized and will be released later in the week.

Colorado has again suffered an early-season loss to Northwestern, raising the question of whether changes were needed.
