Dave Portnoy Takes Multiple Shots At Angel Reese During Her 22-Rebound Performance
Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy took to Twitter to disparage Angel Reese’s play during her 22-rebound performance in a loss to the Las Vegas Aces. Portnoy posted multiple clips of Reese’s lowlights, such as a missed three-point attempt and the rookie missing numerous times at the rim as she battled inside for position.
After the loss, Reese responded on Twitter, “If it was easy, everybody would be doing it. we good! #skytown.”
Reese made history in the defeat, becoming the first rookie to secure 20 or more rebounds in three straight games, even as the Chicago Sky battle for playoff contention. The former LSU star played 37 minutes and scored 11 points in the loss. The Sky fought back from 13 down in the fourth quarter, but MVP favorite A’ja Wilson‘s last-second lay-up ended the comeback short.
Portnoy has not been shy about his support of Caitlin Clark, the first pick in the 2024 WNBA draft and who many in the media believe has a budding rivalry with Reese from their college days. The Barstool owner live-tweeted multiple games of the Indiana Fever this season and still has not moved on from the U.S.A. women’s team, leaving Clark off the roster even after going undefeated en route to a gold medal in Paris.

While Clark and Reese are 1-2 in the Rookie of the Year voting, oddsmakers do not think the competition is close. Clark is -5000 to take home the trophy, while Reese sits at +1500.
Clark’s Fever is scorching hot coming back from the Olympic break. On Monday, they beat the Atlanta Dream 84-79 on the road, securing their third victory in four games and improving their record to 14-16. Clark finished with a below-average shooting performance but still contributed 19 points, seven assists and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Sky are 11-18 and are looking to snap their losing streak on Wednesday at home against the league-worst Washington Mystics.
