During yesterday’s Dallas Stars and Calgary Flames matchup, Stars’ defenseman Patrik Nemeth had to deal with an unusual situation. The Flames’ Jiri Hudler took the puck to the red line and attempted a simple chip and chase. But his chip ended up hitting Nemeth in the face.
Luckily the scary moment turned out fine, as the puck just got lodged in the defenseman’s visor, creating a nice eye patch that made him “look like a pirate,” according to analyst Darryl Reaugh.
Of course, the play was whistled dead, as Nemeth laughingly pried the puck out.
