Late last week, news broke out of an altercation between New York Giants defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins and defensive end and fellow teammate Damontre Moore.

Jenkins appeared unwilling to share his side of the story, and called the fight a distraction.

“I’m not going to get into that,” Jenkins said after the Giants’ 31-24 on-the-road victory over the Miami Dolphins on Monday night. “That is something that has gotten a lot of attention. I’ve heard stories all over the place but we’re not going to get into that.” Many people agree not only that there was a dispute, but that the Beats by Dre headphones distributed by star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. were involved in this dispute. Beckham, however, also claims that there were many more points of contention.

The Dolphins claimed Moore on Monday, and Jenkins wished him the best after hearing the news. Moore officially joined the Dolphins on Tuesday.

Jenkins ended up with a tackle and a quarterback sack on Monday night.

Following a turnover by the Dolphins about one minute into the game, the Giants took an early 3-0 lead. Beckham scored two touchdowns, the first of which came with five minutes left in the third quarter on a first-and-goal. The Giants challenged the play, which was ruled as an incomplete pass after Beckham just barely caught the ball and leapt out of bounds. This tied the game for the Giants at 24 after the Dolphins led 24-17. Then, Giants QB Eli Manning and Beckham connected with 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter, and Beckham caught an 84-yard pass to score a TD and put the Giants up 31-24.

Manning went 27-for-31 for 337 yards and four scores. His 87-percent completion percentage was an all-time career high.

In celebration of the Dolphins’ 50-year franchise, the team introduced their 50 greatest players at halftime. However, QB Ryan Tannehill and his team were unable to keep up with the Giants. Miami’s Jarvis Landry, Beckham’s close friend and former LSU teammate, had 11 catches for 99 yards but was flagged after a costly personal foul as his team trailed in the fourth quarter.

Giants kicker Josh Brown also missed his second field goal of the season after attempting a 48-yarder that went wide right late in the third quarter, when the scored was tied 24-24. Brown missed a kick of the same distance last week in overtime against the New York Jets.

The Dolphins have now been effectively eliminated from the playoff race after falling to 5-8, while the Giants are tied with the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins at 6-7 for first place in the NFC East Division. Next Sunday, the Dolphins will visit the San Diego Chargers (3-10), while the Giants will host the Carolina Panthers (123-0).
