When asked about the types of changes that occur during the week of a playoff game, Dallas Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr simply but resolutely stated:

“Everything is different. Even the air is different. I don’t know what Jerry did around here.”

Jerry Jones can control many things as the Cowboys’ owner and general manager, but not the team’s approach.

In fact, the Cowboys are maintaining their same plan from the regular season. After finishing 13-3 and 1st in the NFC East– their only losses coming twice against the New York Giants and once against the Philadelphia Eagles in the season finale on Jan. 1– Dallas is now preparing to host the Green Bay Packers in Sunday’s divisional round game.

Following a day off on Monday, the Cowboys were introduced to the Packers’ offense, defense and special teams on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, they will work on first- and second-down situations. On Thursday, they will work on third-down and two-minute scenarios. On Friday, the focus will be goal-line and short-yardage situations. Head coach Jason Garrett wants the focus and edge to remain the same. He doesn’t feel the need for higher expectations.

“That’s the feeling everybody wants us to have, but I feel like the way to probably go into this is the same way we’ve been going into it,” defensive end Tyrone Crawford said. “That’s the sense I got from the guys today. We’ve got to play football. It’s another game week. That’s what we’re going to do. Go out there and have fun.”

Dallas defeated Green Bay in the regular season, but the Packers have won seven consecutive games.

“It’s playoff time for us, but we’re still loose, focused as usual,” Carr said. “It’s just another day for us. Come out here, get better, compete as athletes. It’s a big game for us, but nothing unusual for us. At this time of the season, you come in, lock in, and it’s try to win the day.”
