Chiefs Defensive End Frank Clark Arrested On Gun Charges

The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t had their season begin yet, and they are already facing issues – in this case, the trouble is off the field. Defensive end Frank Clark was arrested in Los Angeles after police identified a submachine gun on the floor of his vehicle.

An Uzi submachine gun was clearly visible to police, who then made the arrest of Clark. He was released after his bond of $35,000 was posted. Clark’s attorney claims the gun was the property of his bodyguard and not his client.

“We are aware of the matter, which will be reviewed under the NFL’s personal conduct policy,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said.

This is not the first time that Clark has had off-the-field legal issues. He was arrested for almost the exact same thing earlier this year after a traffic stop in Kansas City. Police proceeded to find two loaded guns on the floor of the vehicle he and a friend were driving.

The Chiefs will undoubtedly be wanting Clark back on the field instead of in trouble and off of it, as he has been selected to the Pro Bowl twice while suiting up for Kansas City. Clark played his first four seasons with the Seahawks before being traded to the Chiefs prior to the 2019 season. The monster defensive end played an integral role on the Chiefs’ defense during their 2019 Super Bowl run. He has 49 sacks in 91 career games. Additionally, he has eight sacks during Kansas City’s last two postseason runs.

Clark was previously arrested in 2014, which led to his dismissal from the football team at the University of Michigan.

Time will tell how the NFL handles Clark’s latest off-the-field issues. He could be looking at a possible suspension in the near future.
