The Chicago Cubs, the reigning World Series champions, visited the White House on Monday, and although it’s customary to present the president with a customized jersey, Dexter Fowler took this gesture one step further.
The now-St. Louis Cardinals outfielder brought a custom pair of Jordan Brand sneakers for outgoing president Barack Obama.
Fowler unveiled the Air Jordan 4s in a video posted on The Players’ Tribune’s Instagram page that he took just before entering the White House.
The shoes are black and white, have the presidential seal on the tongue, and also have Obama’s signature etched on the side.

The shoes look very stylish, and Obama will surely enjoy them. As mentioned earlier, it’s not every day a president receives his own personalized pair of shoes, and from a national championship-winning team no less.
The Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians in seven games to win the World Series in November. The team also gave Obama a personalized jersey with his name and the number 44 (the number of his presidency) on the back.
