The Boston Celtics plan to sign forward Nik Stauskas to a two-year contract.

The University of Michigan product, who’s played for no fewer than six teams in his seven-year career, boasts career averages of 5.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and a 35.4% shooting percentage from three-point land.

The eighth overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, Stauskas has recently made waves in the G-League for his play with the Grand Rapids Gold—he’s amassed 100 points in his last two games, which includes a 57-point performance against the Wisconsin Herd. He was 11-for-15 from three-point range that night.

In 14 G-League games this season, the 28-year-old has averaged 26 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and a 51.4% mark from the field and 46.6% from downtown. He’s taking 8.4 three-pointers per tilt.

Besides seeing time in two games with the Miami Heat this season on a 10-day contract, Stauskas hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2018-19 season, during which he got in 68 games with Cleveland and Portland.
