WATCH: Cam Newton, Miranda Kerr Star In Buick Super Bowl LI Ad

Cam Newton and Miranda Kerr appear together in a hilarious new 2017 Super Bowl LI commercial.

Buick 2017 Super Bowl Ad features newton and kerr

The Carolina Panthers quarterback and the Australian Victoria’s Secret Angel teamed up with Buick in a very funny ad designed to convince customers that the brand’s cars and 2017 crossover models are surprisingly good-looking.

The ad, entitled “Pee Wee,” occurs during a Pee-Wee football game were two fathers are watching their sons play.

Suddenly, a woman steps out of a sleek, red convertible Buick in the parking lot and one of the dads says, “Whoa, check out that Buick!”

The other dad skeptically responds with a chuckle: “Wow, that’s nice! But if that’s a Buick then my kid’s Cam Newton.”

Immediately, the second dad’s son, who is playing quarterback, magically turns into Newton, thus proving the car is a Buick.

Newton throws a great, long touchdown pass and celebrates with his kid teammates by chest-bumping the short players while the dads watch in awe and confusion.

At the end of the ad, the Panthers quarterback points and says, “That’s a good-looking Buick right there,” to which one of the Pee-Wee coaches responds, “If that’s a Buick, then I’m a supermodel.”

The coach then magically becomes Kerr, who claps and shouts “Nice play, Billy!” while the referee runs along the sideline while looking backwards in surprise and says, “Miranda Kerr?!” The official then crashes into a table on the sideline and falls to the ground, knocking over the water cooler and cups on it in the process.

The 60-second commercial was scheduled to debut Tuesday night during a CBS special called “Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials,” and is set to air during the first quarter of Super Bowl LI.

Buick spokesman Stuart Fowle stated CBS approached his company and asked if it could debut the ad along with an ad from another company during Tuesday’s special, and Buick agreed.

The commercial was created by Engage M1, an ad agency that is a partnership between Leo Burnett Detroit and DigitasLBi.

This is the second straight year Buick has decided to spend big money to air an ad during the Super Bowl. It now costs, on average, about $5 million for a 30-second ad during the Super Bowl, according to widely published media reports. Car manufacturers are often among the largest spenders.

Kerr was the first Australian to become a Victoria’s Secret Angel.

“The commercial is fun and filled with some unexpected surprises, and showcases how beautiful and cool the Buick Cascada and Encore are,” Kerr said in a statement.

Several other funny Super Bowl LI ads have been released this week, including one T-Mobile commercial featuring Justin Bieber, Rob Gronkowski and Terrell Owens.
