RGIII Wants To Play For Rams
The 2012 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year has seen his once promising career derailed by numerous injuries, including tearing his ACL and LCL in the 2013 Playoffs. The Baylor product was relegated to the bench last season after suffering a concussion in the preseason and saw Kirk Cousins take over at the top of the depth chart and lead Washington to the playoffs for the first time since their rookie season. Both were drafted in 2012.
In Griffin’s last season as a starter, 2014, he only threw for 1,694 yards, four touchdowns, and six interceptions while completing 68.8% of his pass attempts in seven starts. He also only managed to run for 176 yards and one touchdown.
RGIII exploded onto the NFL scene after being selected second overall behind Andrew Luck in 2012, throwing for 3,200 yards, 20 touchdowns and only five interceptions. He led the league in yards per attempt with 8.1 and completed 65.6% of his passes. The 2011 Heisman winner was also a force in the running game with 815 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging a league best 6.8 yards per carry.

Washington traded with the Rams, then of St. Louis, to acquire Griffin in 2012. The Redskins sent four draft picks that the Rams either kept or traded for more picks into Greg Robinson, Alec Ogletree, Janoris Jenkins, Stedman Bailey, Zac Stacy, Isaiah Pead, Michael Brockers and Rokevious Watkins.
The Rams have struggled to find consistent quarterback since Kurt Warner was released in 2004. Last season the combination of Nick Foles and Case Keenum threw a combined 2,880 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions and the Rams went 7-9 in their last season in St. Louis.
