The Boston Red Sox are one of the most storied baseball franchises in history. Since their founding in 1901, they’ve won nine World Series and cultivated an extremely passionate fan base during years of suffering, referred to as “The Curse of the Bambino.” Fenway Park, built in 1912, is the oldest baseball stadium in the MLB, giving fans a unique experience.
After an 86-year championship drought, the Red Sox claimed victory in 2004 and followed it up with another World Series title in 2007. Success returned to Fenway in 2013 and 2018 but there were rocky years in between, most notably under the management of Bobby Valentine. In recent years, the once loveable losers have turned themselves into a perennial title contender.
Though David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez are long retired, Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts and JD Martinez anchor the lineup and the rotation includes names like 2016 Cy Young winner Rick Porcello, David Price, and former Chicago White Sox ace Chris Sale. Alex Cora is one of the best young managers in the game and he proved it as he led his team to victory last season.

And Red Sox fans always come out. Though they’d struggle if they tried to lead the league in attendance figures, that’s mostly due to Fenway’s small capacity of 47,625. However, from one stretch between May 2003 and April 2013, the Red Sox sold out every home game for a major league sports record.
With the season right around the corner, Red Sox fans are clamoring to see the team take the field. They kick off the regular season against the Seattle Mariners in Washington. Their first home game is on April 9 against the Toronto Blue Jays. For only $128, you can see the defending champions return home to Boston. The team will face off against the Blue Jays on April 11 before hosting the Baltimore Orioles the next day. Tickets range from $18 to $169 for that matchup.
