Bills’ Josh Allen Blames Himself For Ken Dorsey’s Firing

The Buffalo Bills’ decision to fire head offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey appears to have quite an effect on the team.

Star quarterback Josh Allen, who has worked with Dorsey since 2019, feels that if the team played better, Dorsey would still be in the job.

“Without a doubt, and I take that very personally,” Allen said. “It hurts a lot to see someone you care about go through a situation like that and to know that if I could have done more, if this offense could have done more, we wouldn’t have had to do something like that.”

It was Head Coach Sean McDermott’s decision to fire Dorsey as the team fell to 5-5 during Monday’s 24-22 loss to the Denver Broncos. The Bills now sit outside the playoff picture heading into Week 11, where they face the New York Jets.

“Our backs are against the wall. The clock’s ticking on what we can do this season and it starts this Sunday to try to turn this thing around. I think it takes a lot to look at yourself in the mirror and say, ‘What can I do that’s been good and what can I do to fix what’s been bad?′ That’s what we’ve all got to do,” Allen added. 

The offensive duties have now fallen onto quarterbacks coach Joe Brady, who is now the interim offensive coordinator in place of Dorsey.

Allen has had quite a disappointing season compared to prior campaigns. He has thrown a league-leading 11 interceptions as well as giving up three fumbles.
