With the NBA trade deadline approaching, Ben Simmons’ agent met with Philadelphia 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey and GM Elton Brand on Wednesday, but, the sides could not come to a resolution over the All-Star guard’s immediate future.
Simmons, 25, is no closer to honoring the team’s hopes for a return to the court this season, while the team’s asking price has been said to be too high to net a potential trade partner.
His agent, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, described the meeting as amicable but told the Sixers that Simmons’ mental health continues to prohibit his return to the court, while his desire to leave the City of Brotherly Love still burns.
However, the team is not inclined to move him without a big return.
