Australian Open Ball Boy Hit By 122-MPH Serve In Private Parts

Yesterday, during the Feliciano Lopez vs. Adrian Mannarino Australian Open match, a ball boy had the misfortune of getting hit in the private area by a 122 MPH serve from Lopez. The ball boy who looked more shocked than anything else, retrieved the ball before finally succumbing to his injuries.

Eventually he got up and was able to walk off the court on his accord, but he certainly took the shot like a champ: as a former ball boy, those serves really do hurt — and I’ve only been hit in the leg.

Feliciano Lopez ended up winning the match in four after Adrian, who was up two sets to one, had to retire for injury reasons.
