Talib, 33, is currently on injured reserve after fracturing his ribs against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5, which means the Dolphins basically just purchased a draft pick by trading for him. Talib has roughly $4.2 million remaining on his contract, so the money Los Angeles saved by dealing him can now be used to sign other players.

The five-time Pro Bowl cornerback — who previously played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New England Patriots and Denver Broncos — is set to become an unrestricted free agent next offseason. Talib, a former first-round pick, helped lead the Broncos to a Super Bowl 50 victory after the 2015 season.
