Alvin Gentry, Golden State Assistant Coach, Dunks Easily At 60 Years Old
Alvin Gentry has had a great year. He won a NBA Championship as an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors and was hired as the New Orleans Pelicans new head coach. And now, he can also add dunking at the age of 60 to his list.
Alvin Gentry Dunks Easily At 60 Years Old
A few days ago, during Golden State’s shootaround, Gentry thought he would entertain the troops by attempting a dunk. However, he is far from a spry chicken. Now, on his first try, he attempted to grip the ball one-handed. As a result, he lost the ball while jumping, almost falling in the process. The failure got a nice laugh, yet Alvin was determined.
As for the second time, he took a bigger running start and used the wall, Bo Jackson style, to propel himself up and easily dunked. Gentry walked away suavely and the Warriors went absolutely beserk. Now, though the wall is somewhat cheating, Gentry is 60 years old and showed more athletic ability than most folks his age: so uSports will let that fact slide.
The Warriors closed out the series 105-97 and brought the Larry O’Brien trophy back to Oakland for the first time in 40 years.
