Alex Wright To Sign 3-Year, $33 Million Extension With Browns
Cleveland Browns defensive end Alex Wright reached an agreement with the team on a three-year, $33 million extension, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday.
The contract extension will also include a $21 million guarantee. The deal comes as the defensive end was expected to enter unrestricted free agency next offseason.
The 25-year-old is playing in his fourth season in Cleveland but is currently nursing a quad injury suffered against the New York Jets on Nov. 9. In his nine games played this season, Wright recorded three sacks and one forced fumble.
The Browns will travel to face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday afternoon. Both teams enter the weekend with a 2-8 record.
