After Marlins Infielder Ronny Simon Breaks Down in Tears Following Three Errors, Teammates & Coaches Console Him

Miami Marlins second baseman Ronny Simon broke down in tears during the Marlins’ 8-6 loss to the San Diego Padres.

Simon committed three individual errors in the first four innings of the game. After being pulled from the game, Simon was crying while leaving the field. He was seen heading straight for the clubhouse, where teammates and coaches chased after him.

“It happens, it’s baseball,” Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. said. “Everybody who’s one a gold glove or a platinum glove has had one of those nights.”

The 25-year-old rookie had a good start to the game, recording a hit, an RBI and scoring a run in the first inning. The Marlins led 6-1 at the end of the first inning.

The Padres then tied the game in the second, third and fourth innings, partly due to Simon’s errors. He was pulled from the game following the fourth inning.

So far this season, Simon is batting .234 with five RBIs and 11 hits. He recorded an RBI in his first career game.
