Adrian Peterson Continues To Express Interest In The Cowboys

Despite it being highly unlikely that the Minnesota Vikings release or deal away Adrian Peterson, the superstar running back, who was suspended last season following his arrest for child abuse, still expresses interest in the Dallas Cowboys.

The longtime Texas native, who was officially reinstated April 17, has always expressed a desire to play for America’s so-called team. These rumors originally ran rampant when Don Van Natta’s ESPN story mentioned that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones received a phone call from Peterson, where he allegedly expressed interest in playing for them. And as a result of Peterson’s current feelings for the Vikings, these rumors have reached a fever pitch.

Still, Peterson is in the middle of his six-year, $86.28 million contract, which does not expire until 2017. But this does not stop him from expressing his desire to put that starred helmet on, which is what he did when he talked to Dallas’ WFAA-TV.

“It would be nice [to play for the Cowboys],” Peterson told Dallas’ WFAA-TV. “I’ve got family here, my dad’s here. But I’m under contract, so we’ll see.”

However, as of yesterday the Vikings have remained adamant that they are not going to trade Peterson. “We can just end the Adrian Peterson stuff,” Vikings GM Rick Spielman told reporters. “Our position has not changed… We have no interest in trading Adrian Peterson.”

Still, people will not believe that he remains in Minnesota until the season opener. So until then, expect plenty of more Peterson stories as the saga continues.
