Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers officially pulled out of the NFL’s annual all-star game with an undisclosed injury Wednesday, and was replaced by Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr. Rodgers’ injury has not been specified.
The Packers QB appeared on the team’s injury report with a right shoulder injury in November but did not miss any time. He absorbed 46 sacks during the regular season, the second most of his entire career.
Rodgers also withdrew from last year’s Pro Bowl following a torn calf muscle during the last month of the season. This was Rodgers’ fifth Pro Bowl selection, but he only played twice: in 2009 and 2011.
Green Bay still has three players set to play during the Bowl on Jan. 31: linebacker Clay Matthews, guard Josh Sitton, and fullback John Kuhn.
