Watch: Bucs’ Nick Folk Misses Three Field Goals In Loss To Patriots, Twitter Reacts

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered a 19-14 home loss to the New England Patriots on Thursday night, and one of the standout poor performances of the game was that of Nick Folk.

Nick Folk Field Goal Misses

The Bucks kicker — who is replacing the recently-released Robert Aguayo — missed all three of his field goal attempts. One in particular was a 49-yard attempt early in the fourth quarter, as Tampa trailed 16-7. Of course, 49 yards is no easy distance from which to boot a field goal, but Folk’s kick was way off the mark:

Bucs coach Dirk Koetter confessed after the game that he had already talked to general manager Jason Licht about potentially making a change at kicker.

“We’ll talk about that,” Koetter said when asked if Folk will be the kicker going forward. “Jason and I had a brief conversation afterwards. That’ll be something that’s forthcoming. But you don’t want to make any rash decisions.”

Folk clearly looked devastated with his mistakes.

Fans on Twitter didn’t wait long to poke fun at the kicker’s errors.

What is particularly telling is that Folk’s record thus far this season is even worse than Aguayo’s was in 2016. In 2016, Aguayo finished 22 of 31 on field goals (71 percent). Folk is 6 of 11 through five games (54.5 percent).

Folk successfully made a 34-yard field goal in the final seconds of last week’s contest against the New York Giants to lift his team to a 25-23 win.

At least the Bucs made up for that with this:

Tom Brady finished 30 of 40 for 303 yards and a touchdown to Chris Hogan, and was sacked three times. New England was missing Rob Gronkowski, who sat out with a thigh injury.

The Patriots (3-2, 2nd in AFC East) next visit the New York Jets on Oct. 15, when the Bucs (2-2, 4th in NFC South) visit the Arizona Cardinals.
