Chelsea claimed their fourth consecutive FA Youth Cup title by defeating Manchester City 5-1 in the second-leg final at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday for a 6-2 aggregate victory.

Chelsea Beat Manchester City For Fourth Straight FA Youth Cup

Trevoh Chalobah opened the scoring for Chelsea after six minutes with a big header off captain Mason Mount’s right-side corner kick to put the hosts up 1-0.

Chelsea forward Ike Ugbo doubled the lead after 24 minutes with a spectacular shot off Dujon Sterling’s cross for his 10th goal of the tournament.

City manager Lee Carsley made an offensive change after halftime, knowing his team was in trouble, and replaced Jacob Davenport with Luke Bolton. Striker Lukas Nmecha, who fired a shot that was blocked by Chelsea goalkeeper Jamie Cummings in the first half, took another shot shortly after the break to beat Cummings after running toward a long ball behind Chelsea’s defense to bring City within 2-1.

The tally marked Nmecha’s 11th goal of the FA Youth Cup to make him the tournament’s top scorer this year.

The hosts then struck again, however, as Callum Hudson-Odoi took a pass from Juan Castillo before racing into the penalty box and firing a hard shot into the upper corner to make it 3-1..

Just after the hour-mark, Sterling scored Chelsea’s fourth goal by cutting in from the wing and shooting home past goalie Arijanet Muric after being assisted down the lane by Ugbo.

Substitute Cole Dasilva netted the game-wining goal on a rebound from close range after Muric had saved a shot from fellow substitute George McEachran in the 87th minute.

This marked Chelsea’s sixth straight appearance in the FA Youth Cup Final and the third successive years in which the Blues have faced Manchester City in the title match.

The London-based club now boast eight FA Youth Cup titles, six of which have come since 2010.
