Duke Football Star Kimari Robinson Issues Apology For Swatting Arm Of Female Staffer Helping Injured Player
Duke football star Kimari Robinson was seen swatting a female staffer’s arm this weekend during the game against North Carolina.
The incident happened in the second quarter when Robinson checked on an injured teammate; the staffer rushed in to help, moved Robinson out of the way so she could do her job, and Robinson swatted her arm away.
The staffer looked shocked immediately after the incident, then stared up at Robinson as he stood over her, kneeling to attend to the injured player.
Duke has not issued any statements about the incident or the coaching staff. No penalties have been issued so far, but Robinson has finally spoken out in a statement he posted on social media.

“I want to publicly apologize to the member of our training staff… I was completely wrong, and she did not deserve that. I apologized to her personally and checked to make sure she was okay,” said Robinson.
He also added that the injured player, DaShawn Stone, is like family to him, which is why he was so worried about the incident and why he was in the way of the training staff in the first place. He said that even though this was the case, it doesn’t justify his actions. “I should have controlled my emotions, and I didn’t.”
He added that he was sorry for his actions and how they reflected on him and the program, finishing with, “I have to be better than that.”
It remains to be seen whether Robinson will face consequences for his actions, and whether Duke or the team will address it at all.
The injured Stone walked off the field without a cart, though Duke has made no further comments about the injury in the 24-20 loss.
