Deion Sanders Wins Points For Telling Insulting Georgia Tech Fan, ‘God Bless You!’

Coach Deion Sanders is back for another season at Colorado and opened his fourth season with a win over Georgia Tech, 14-13.

Colorado’s game-winning scenario left Georgia Tech fans unhappy. Charlie Williams caught the game-winning touchdown with 42 seconds remaining, and when Georgia Tech had the chance to storm down the field and win, Colorado blocked the kick.

According to a video captured by Yahoo Sports, a fan yelled an expletive directly at Sanders.

Shedeur Sanders, his son, now in the NFL and playing for the Cleveland Browns, was walking off the field with his father when it happened. They both turned around immediately in shock, and after a brief pause, Deion responded to the fan with class, saying “God bless you,” with his hands together.

The two then exited the field without saying anything more or firing back at the fan.

Sanders has had controversial moments on camera, with comments many would attribute to an uncontrolled ego, and a bad response to the fan wouldn’t have helped. His response will do well on social media; choosing not to clap back is something plenty of athletes and coaches struggle to do when dealing with fans like this.

Athletes and coaches deal with stuff like this all the time, and usually the best thing to do is ignore it, but this wasn’t a bad response either.

Colorado is projected to finish its season with four to six wins, according to experts, which will again be disappointing for Sanders’ high expectations that come with his publicity, first job, and fantastic 2024 season when they had the Heisman winner, Travis Hunter.
